Teachers Central to Leadership (TCTL) Fellowship
Launching July 2022

 

Summary: The Teachers Central to Leadership (TCTL) Fellowship is a unique opportunity for DCPS teachers to contribute their perspective and expertise to mission-critical projects at the district level. This one-month program places teachers on teams in the DCPS Central Office during the summer. TCTL Fellows provide input on goal-oriented initiatives that directly impact school-based staff. They also have the opportunity to interface with DCPS leaders in small group settings. Fellows develop close working relationships with Central Office staff and gain a unique perspective on how policies are developed and programs are designed.

  • Networking opportunities across Central Office to provide multiple perspectives of leadership and support personal leadership development

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Participants:

  • Current DCPS teacher with two (2) years of DCPS teaching experience

  • Commitment to flexibility in pursuit of DCPS vision, core values, and strategic priorities.

  • Supports DCPS for 4 weeks over the summer by working 30-35 hours per week on project(s) identified by a Central Office supervisor to support mission-critical initiatives across DCPS.

  • Contributes innovative and content-based ideas to their assigned project in support of equity-based urban education. 

  • Participates in team events, training, and meetings as appropriate. 

  • Principal approval is required to participate in this opportunity.
